In vitro model of the pancreatic acino-ductal unit

Realization of a 3D in vitro model of the pancreatic acino-ductal unit which aims at reproducing the adenomere’s physiological morphology and composition. This work involves the use of additive manufacturing technologies to resemble the complex geometry typical of the 3D exocrine glandular tissue combined with advanced surface modification technologies to introduce biomimetic cues.

The cellularized final structure will provide a model of human pancreatic duct adenocarcinoma (PDAC) at early stages which will allow to perform genomic analysis and study the physiologic pathways involved in the tumor evolution.
